Antara 12 steps yang ditunjukkan dalam video adalah seperti berikut:
1)Use both hand,  left hand hold the arm and hold the base with right hand for support.

2)Rotate the revolving nosepiece to lowest power.

3)Stage microcope clip to the stage clip.
4)Use the coarse adjustment knob to lower the lens as far as it can go without touching the slide.
5)While looking through the eyepiece, you can maintain better viewing by keeping both eyes open.

6)Adjust the light source and diaphragm to get the greatest amount of light.

7)Slow turn the coarse adjustment knob to your body. This mean, the object of lens will go up. do this until object to focus.

8)Use the final adjustment knob to focus the image as much as possible.

9)Move the stage to center of image and your field of view.

10)Rotate the revolving nosepiece to increase the object of lens power, once again use the final adjustment knob for better focus.

11)When finished, use the coarse adjustment knob, to raise the object of lens 
12)Remove the slide and click the lowest power object of lens into position.
